This past weekend the Pittsburgh Aviators 2010 Peewee AA hockey Club traveled to Cleveland, OH for the invite only 2021 Great Lakes Shootout Showcase. This showcase featured teams from all over the United States. Going into the weekend the Aviators knew it was going to be a tough challenge, playing five games in three days, but they did not disappoint.

The showcase started out strong on Friday with the Aviators first defeating the Carolina Premier AAA Hockey Club 9–4 and then the Buffalo Saints AAA Club 4-1. The Aviators continued their strong showing on Saturday when they faced a tough Ohio Prospects AAA team. The game was a physical back and forth battle that ended with the Aviators coming out on top 2-1. Saturday night the Aviators faced a physical Valley Forge Minutemen AAA club. The game started out back and forth but the fast physical play of the Aviators wore down the Minutemen by the end of the game and the Aviators skated away with a 6-3 win. Going into Sunday, the Aviators were flying high. They had spent the entire weekend coming even more together as a team and were ready for a tough test from the local Cleveland Barons AA Club. After a slow start, the Aviators turned on the jets and never looked back. Once again, an overwhelming fast, physical attack propelled them to a 7-0 win.

The Aviators traveled home after a convincing 5-0 weekend. Thank you to the parents and coaches for helping make this a fun and successful weekend of Aviator hockey. The boys get back to work this week to get ready for a tough weekend against the 2009 AA Pittsburgh Viper Stars and the 2009 AA Allegheny Badgers as they continue their PAHL schedule!
